I received his BSc. in Physics in 2012 and Ph.D. in Physics in 2016, both with curricula of matter physics, from the University of Pavia (Italy).

Favourite thing to do in science: Follow the light!
About Me: Born to be a physicist, I am currently working at Tyndall National Institute in the Photonics Packaging Group dealing with Research and Development related to Photonics Nanotechnologies.
I live in Cork but I come from Italy, I love pizza (this is obvious) and the sunny days spent on the beach enjoying life with friends. I go on motorbikes every weekend and I love basketball and kung fu … of which I am a black belt…
My Work: I am a Researcher in the Photonics Packaging Group at Tyndall National Institute. My job is to design and optimize circuits working with light.
I am a Research Manager in the Photonics Packaging Group at Tyndall National Institute since 2017. My research activities focus on the development of optical coupling schemes for optoelectronic devices. My hard skills span from spectroscopic and microscopy techniques to computational models based on finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) and T-matrix methods. I previously worked at the University of Cagliari (Italy) as didactical tutor, teaching physics and mathematics in bachelor and master classes. I received his BSc. in Physics in 2012 and Ph.D. in Physics in 2016, both with curricula of matter physics, from the University of Pavia (Italy).
My Typical Day: In the morning I am a sloth and I get up calmly ... then I ride like a train all day long
By 9 am I arrive in Tyndall, I turn on all the tools and instumentation and then I reply to the emails received during the night. Then I organize the working day with my students and starting with the required laboratory measurements and data analysis. Lunch break and coffee (espresso dark!) and then meetings, planning and writing of articles and projects proposals.
